Description

No worries when making updates or changes to your CRM system

Maintenance Mode for SuiteCRM helps companies ensure their users are off the CRM before starting system upgrades, development evolutions, or plugin installations. With a special Admin option for ‘maintenance mode,’ users get the following features:

  • Prevent non-admin users to log in
  • Automatically force the logout of all non-admin users as soon as they refresh a page
  • Admin users can set their own HTML maintenance page

How it Works

Keep everyone informed with a nice “Down for Maintenance” page

Create a custom HTML page to alert your users that SuiteCRM is down for maintenance, as shown in the example below.

Ensure regular users can’t log in while you’re working on the system

At any time, Admin users can set the CRM system in Maintenance Mode; meaning, no one but Admin users can log in. If a non-admin user is already logged in when you activate Maintenance Mode, they will be redirected to the maintenance page.

More on Maintenance Mode

Working in a small company is relatively simple; you can easily warn all your workmates that you’re going to switch off the CRM system soon, or you can send them an email asking them not to edit or create any records and to work in a read-only way.

However, even in large, global companies, employees in different locations, or remote-working teams, this can be a very difficult task.

The more you have to deal with users who want to do unauthorized actions, the more you will want your system to be foolproof. After all, your boss trusts that you’re able to win the competition and you don’t want to disappoint them.

What is the solution?

You need to intervene using a three-tier strategy:

  • Record Management
  • System Protection
  • Maintenance Management

Record Management

You have to limit your users’ capacity to access records, and you can mainly do that with SecuritySuite.

System Protection

Among all other options, you can improve the level of protection of your CRM system, defending from brute force and dictionary attacks with CRM Defender.

Maintenance Management

You can use this add-on to be able to work on your system with peace of mind.

The life of a systems admin is always full of stress, but with the Maintenance Mode add-on, you’ll at least reach 3 goals:

  • Enable the Maintenance Mode in any moment without the risk your users lose what they’re working on
  • When your users click on any button or the session expires (the first thing that happens), they’ll be forcibly logged out and redirected to the maintenance page
  • Leave your users out without any capability to log in or to interfere until you are done working

Since version #1.2 Admin users can customize the HTML page source of the “Maintenance Mode is active” page, directly inside the SuiteCRM admin panel. You won’t have to access using FTP to your CRM system. This will especially help system administrators who deploy their CRM instance in a cloud environment.
